Ljubljana to Zurich?

Jump to last reply

My wife and I would like to get from Lubljana to Zurich with as little expense as possible on April 16th or 17th - ideally the 16th if we have to get a night train with sleeper berths to arrive the morning of the 17th. However, from my base in Bangkok I'm unable to book these tickets in advance online!

I've tried airline tickets but they're over 400USD/person. Renting a car makes little sense since it's a point to point journey and the cost for a one-day rental is very high.

Any advice for alternate routes or better ways to secure inexpensive tickets? Do I have to go back to Venice (where we departed from to go to Ljubljana) to get a night train, which I still might not be able to book until I'm in Europe?

Thanks in advance for suggestions.
