I'm trying this as a separate post for more visibility.
Having recently returned from Dubrovnik, Trogir and Venice, we're even now talking about next year. We're considering Llubljana, Slovenia, Istria and northern Italy via Venice. Any suggestions for traveling between Slovenia - Istria - Venice? We don't want to rent a car. All suggestions welcome.

we did this trip this summer, Ljubljiana, Piran, Venice. we travelled from Ljubljiana (2 1/2 hours)to Piran by Coach, and then from Piran to Venice by water, we caught the Prince of Venice, we bought our tickets from the tourist info office in Piran (24 hours in advance) only goes on certain days and takes approx 3 hours, but absolutley great.
Thanks for the information.
We're starting in Dubrovnik/Cavtat, then going to Hvar, (and maybe Trogir) and flying home from Venice. How would we get from Havr or Trogir to Venice?
We flew from Split -- the airport is really close to Trogir -- to Venice, via Rome on Europe By Air. Just be sure to allow time to pay airport taxes.
cbresa, we will be going from dubrovnik to hvar in june. how is it done? bus? ferry? do you know how long a trip?
