My husband and I will be coming into Slovenia from Croatia. We just can't figure out this last part of our trip...
We will be in Plitvice for 1 day, making our way to Ljubljana (maybe via Zagreb if we rent a car in Croatia - TBD).
We will be flying back to the US from Ljubljana's airport after a few days in Slovenia. So, should we base ourselves in Ljubljana and take day trips to Bohinj and Bled? Stay in Bled with daytrips to Ljubljana and Bohinj? Anyone have a good idea?
Please help.... I know planning takes time, but we just can't sort this part out...

The airport is about halfway between Ljubljana and Bled, so it is really your call. If it makes any difference, you would pass Lake Bled on your way from Ljubljana to Lake Bohinj.
If you do take a car rented in Croatia into Slovenia, make sure it has the decal (or whatever it is) that is used to charge tolls in Slovenia. Or return your car before leaving Croatia and rent another car in Slovenia.
Thanks for the tips. We are leaning to stay in Bled. Also, about the car, the price is so much if we pick up in Zagreb and drop off in Slovenia, so if we do rent a car I think it will be p/u and d/o in Zagreb.
The Park Hotel in Bled is wonderful. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the lake & the castle - it was like looking at a fairytale setting!
