lisbon accomodation

looking in several hotel sites i really cannot take a decision .im confused with so many hotels and rates(i thought that lisbon had cheaper hotels than my city,athens)
instead of staying in the youth hostel of lisbon i d like a better option.cold you possibly reccomend me a clean ,simple hotel with less than 70euro (double room)?
do you think is wiser to book it via internet or can i find better prices if i go their and ask for a room?
