Lipari Aeolian Islands
Hi all
Could you please give me some suggestions on where is the place best to stay in Lipari. We are a group of 6 adults and not too fussy with accommodation. (close to town). Is 4 nights sufficient?
We plan to travel there from Naples by hydrofoil. Has anyone done this trip, feedback would be wonderful.
Thanks in advance

Mandalay,
I stayed on Lipari for 5 nights and loved it. I actualy could have easily spent 2 more days there. The town is very charming and I had two excellent meals there. There is an excellent museum, and archeological site in town.
Lipari was a long time dream destination for me and I chose to rent a vacation villa at the top of the island at Quattrocchi Belvedere. The views were incredible!
There are frequent ferries/hydrofoils to the other islands and many tour companies that do boat excursions to other other islands. I did the Panarea/Stromboli by Night tour. Another day I took a ferry over to Salina, rented a car and drove all over. Salina was very green and I would have enjoyed staying there also.
A highly recommended B&B in town is Diana Browns B&B.
The villa I rented is no longer available for rental. Too bad, it was absolutely perfect for me.
If you have other questions, I'll try to answer.

I traveled in the reverse direction, taking the overnight ferry from Lipari to Naples. Loved it! If you can, learn when the ferry you plan to take will pass key points of interest so you can be sure to look for them.
I didn't stay in Lipari, so can't help you there....

were in lipari last may and simply loved it. easy ferry service to nearby islands. favorite eats were at Ristorante Filippino, $$$$ but excellent the squid was out of this world, Kasbah - great pizza and much more- burrata salad is a must (one of the top 3 dishes that i have eaten worldwide). the highlight of our visit was renting a 4 wheeler and touring the island for the day. all type of vegetation, beaches, and great small restaurants.

We stayed at B and B Diana Brown last year for a week in June. We had a self contained apartment with a terrace. We loved it. The position is fantastic as its in the main town but in a quiet section. It was spotlessly clean and even though it was self catering they changed the towels every second day and changed the sheets half way through. Diana runs a great business and is very helpful. She met us at the ferry wharf.
We loved Lipari and would go back there again in a flash.
