Les Degrés de Notre Dame Studio?
The 10 rooms at Les Degrés de Notre Dame are fully booked for our trip to Paris this fall. However, the hotel emailed me back that there are two studios/apts of theirs right next door to the hotel that are available. The studios are #5 and #8.
My wife and I love the decor and style of the hotel as viewed on their website and tripadvisor, but we're a little nervous that the studios won't be as nice. Haven't really seen reviews or pics.
Anybody stayed in #5 or #8 that could help us out?
Thanks!

I take it you are hoping the exposed beam ceilings etc. are also the style of the apartments 5 & 8.
I think there is a good chance they would be as the exterior looks pretty much the same.
Take a stroll down rue des Grands Degres by going to PagesJaunes photos de villes, (Hope that's right!).
There you are able to wonder around any neighborhood or street in Paris, check out the buildings and the local of restaurants.
Good luck!

No, but there is a review on tripadvisor by someone who stayed in one of those studios, so you can read that.
You could always ask the hotel if the studios were the same decor and style as the hotel, also, if they had beams, etc.

I did email the hotel to ask for more information and she replied back with this description:
The 2 studios are so different, the studio 8 is more luxury, with very typical harwood floors, old furniture.
The studio 5, looks like a small house, it's another kind of charming space.
I think we are going to stay here so I'll try to report back after our trip for any other curious travelers.
Thanks,
Scott

smallworld - glad you got a description of the two studios. I am thinking about them for my next visit as we want to do a bit of "market research" and with the nearby Marche Maubert this would suit us to a T. We could shop early and drop the stuff off before heading out for the day.
I have been itching to buy really wild mushrooms, good fresh veg, meat, & cheeses from the farm, as well as trying some of the excellent fish which we don't get here in Africa.
I hope you take some indoor shots for us?! Do you happen to know if the studios are ground floor?

Here are the descriptions from the first email I got from the hotel:
#5 is on the back side on the 1st floor. Double bed 160 cm, large full bathroom. 160 Euros.
#8 is just next door to the hotel, on a small street, second floor with elevator. Three windows, very full of light. Double bed 140cm, large bathroom with shower, kitchen corner. 140 Euros.
Thanks for the information about Marche Maubert. We'll have to check it out. I noticed this market is mentioned in the following article, which may be of some interest:

well, they sound okay, and at least that is a small street off the main drag, so should be quiet. It's kind of funny they call the cheaper one more luxury, and it also has a smaller bed. No. 5 sounds better to me, at least on paper, and has a queen-sized bed.
