LeMans

I am finally taking my husband and son to Paris with me in April. They would like to take one day trip and the suggestion of Versaille or Giverney was met with frowns. These guys are real "motorheads" and love anything to do with cars and racing. (I already found the Salon du Cabriolet et du Coupe will be in Paris while we are there)If we take the TGV to LeMans, is it easy to get to the track and museum? Does anyone know if the train station is convenient for seeing the town? I should probably rent a Smart Car for them and send them on their way, but I think we'd all like to try the TGV. Many thanks in advance for any help you can offer!!

Somewhat of a motorhead myself, given the choice I would walk the Formula I circuit at Magny-Cours.

My wheelchair-bound brother wants me to accompany him to LeMans for a trip. Where can I get information about dates, accomodations, etc? All help appreciated.

Thanks for the suggestion Richard but I don't see any trains to Nevers. I chose LeMans because it looks so accessible. I just wonder if we'll need a car when we get there to be able to see the track.

For Peg and Barb: The train station in Le Mans is on the south side of the city, some distance from the center, and the race track and museum are another 4-5 mi. to the south, so I think you will probably need a car. Here is a site that will give you some more information about Le Mans: http://www.ville-lemans.fr/index1.html<BR>Under "Touring Ideas," there is a section called "The Car race lover's Le Mans." You can also e-mail the tourist office from here. Hope this helps.

Betty, Thanks for (once again) coming to my rescue. Great info and website! I'm sure this will answer all of our questions.
