Left Luggage in London
I will spend the last four days of my European vacation in London. I will be staying at a Travelodge property that does not allow me to leave my luggage after I check out. I am staying on City Road, I plan on checking out early the day before I leave and then going to stay at an airport hotel for the last night, since my flight to the US departs early. I need a place to store my luggage in central London, what should I do? Where would it be secure and what would the costs be?
Also, I have tried to call the hotel, the area code is 0871 and not 020, for some reason I don't get connected when I dail 0011-44-871-the local number, what am I doing wrong?
Thanks in advance.

Which airport? It makes a difference. The mainline train stations have left luggage facilities. About £6 per bag per day.
Victoria Station and a few others are convenient for LGW. There are several train options to LGW.
Paddington and Kings Cross are convenient for LHR. Paddington has trains to LHR and Kings Cross is on the direct tube line.

0871 isn't a local area code - it's a national number businesses use. According to this site her: http://www.uk2numbers.co.uk/index.cf...t&cat=0871 "Please note that some smaller international telecom providers do not support calls to UK non-geographical numbers."
Maybe that's the problem here?

0871 is not an area code at all, it's a non-geographical code, used in the UK to charge callers a specific premium rate per minute for calling the number. When you dial this number from overseas, it can get blocked somewhere between the overseas and UK phone companies involved. Unfortunately I can't find a geographical area code for Travelodge on their website, or even an email address.

Thanks for the feedback.
I will be departing from Heathrow. I have a few options,
1) I can book for another night at the Travelodge, and leave early in the morning for LHR (my flight is at 9.30 am, so I;d have to leave before 7 am),
2) I can check out a day early and leave my luggage somewhere (perhaps at Kings Cross), and then go to a hotel near LHR
3) I can check out a day early, and then go to a hotel that will be easier to get to LHR from, perhaps somewhere in Kenningston or Paddington stn. Provided the hotel I move to lets me leave my luggage before checking in.
I am debating what to do, since I need to book my last night of hotel accordingly.
Thanks.

If your flight is leaving at 9.30am, I would get to check in by 7.30am at the very latest. If travelling by public transport, you can check travel times on the Transport for London website but I would add on a bit of extra time, to be sure.
Why not leave your luggage at the Left Luggage office at somewhere like Kings Cross or St Pancras (it's about 6 pounds per 24 hours, per item, and is x-rayed and held securely) then stay your last night at the Yotel (www.yotel.com) at Heathrow. It's located within the airport, though you do need to check which terminal it's at and which terminal you depart from.
I find it very surprising that the Travelodge will not hold your luggage after you leave. We have never been refused this anywhere in London, although we did have to pay once. Does it specify that on their website?

Justshootme,
Try this website for Travelodge's non-0871 number:

Thanks for the feedback, on Travelodge's website it states that they do not have a left luggage due to security reasons. I tried to call the hotel and couldn't because of the 0871 number. I certainly don't mind paying Travelodge to keep my luggage, I do need to book my last night of hotel accordingly, that is what I'm more concerned about for now.

If you would rather stay in a hotel in London for your last night, instead of at/near Heathrow, you could try the Premier Inn Kings Cross St Pancras Hotel. We stayed there recently and it was fine, 5 mins walk from Kings Cross, all new inside, and they kept our luggage for us on our last day, until we returned to collect it.
Don't forget though, to allow enough time to get to Heathrow for your flight. It can take longer than you think sometimes, we always allow plenty of extra time but that's just us.

KayF, I have booked all the nights except the last night, if I book at another hotel in London, I need to be sure that I can move my baggage and have in stored by the morning of day before I leave. i don't want to book another hotel with the same left luggage policy at travelodge.
I don't need to use left luggage on my last day, since my flight leaves LHR very early.
