Left Luggage in Brighton, UK
We will be traveling by train from Hastings to Portsmouth, but stopping for the afternoon in Brighton.
I know that the train station does not have left luggage facilities, but is there anywhere we could safety store our suitcases while we can leave our bags for a few hours? If it affects your answer, there are three carry-on sized bags and we'll be there in June.
Thanks!

Apparently there are no left luggage facilities open to the public anywhere in Brighton. So you have no choice but to carry them with you. Because of recent security scares, only hotels would store luggage for their guests.

I was afraid of that -- I searched online before posting here. We were hoping to tour the Royal Pavilion and see other sights. My current plan is to try to find a helpful hotel that would be willing to check the bags for a fee. Otherwise, we'll tug them along behind us as a rolling advertisement for nerdy tourists.

You will hit the problem of security when you approach any hotels. Even if you offer to pay, they wouldn't want to take the risk. Ever since the IRA bomb that was aimed to kill the then prime minister, all hotels there are very security conscious.
