Leaving luggage in Prague?

In September we will be travelling with a small group in the Tatras, then taking the overnight train to Prague, arriving 6 or 7 am. We will then be on our own for several days in Prague staying in VBRO accommodation near St. Charles bridge. 10:00 am is the earliest we can leave our luggage at our rental, or perhaps not till 2:00 pm check in. Is there somewhere we can leave our luggage at the train station for the day?

there is a left luggage area in the station(Hlavni) as well as luggage lockers,i have used both several times in the last few years and as recently as last week. The lockers are probably your best bet, there are various sizes but a standard one can take 2 decent sized bags and cost 60kc for 24hrs, there is a machine for change in the area (max 200kc note).
the locker area is on the ground floor to the far left as you face the platforms, the left luggage area is on the first floor far rigth as you face the platform and opposite the main toilet block

Exactly what we need to know. Now we can enjoy the day in Prague unencumbered. Thanks so much, unclegus.

your're welcome.
BTW the main train station Hlavni also has showers (at the main toilet block) there are also loads of shops including a Billa supermarket and plenty of places to get breakfast if you need too.used to be a real dump years ago but is now one of the nicest train stations around.

Great to know. A shower may be quite welcome after an overnight train ride, and we'll want breakfast for sure.
