Leaving for Europe Sat. A few last minute questions

Almost packed. Feel like I'm getting sick. Getting nervous. Getting excited. Getting a headache. Having a Hurricane. Is this normal? (I don't mean the hurricane) Well, I guess it is, if you live in FL.

Just some last minute questions, please.

Where do we take the bus in Monaco to see the changing of the guard? How far is it from the port?

Is the Prince's car collection worth the time?

Any "must see in Santorini"?

Any MUST TRY foods in Athens or Santorini (lunch)

Are the Suburban Baths in Pompeii worth a look?

Thanks everyone for all your expertise.

Did you purchase a guide book? That can give you the must see in Santorini. Or click on "destinations" above and see if it gives you any info. Was this a last minute trip?

Hi Sandi,
No,this was not a last minute trip.
I spent so much time on this board for Rome Florence, Venice, and Barcelona, as we will be in each of these places for 3 days.
We are doing tours from other ship ports (private)
I think all the people on Fofor's are better than any travel book.

A wonderful restaurant in Santorini is in Pyrgos (you'll need a car to get there). Called Pyrgos Taverna, I had a fabulous meal there, and the food is very fresh and delicious. Artemis (pronounced ar-TEM-is), the owner, is a gem. (we were taken there by friends, and it's not a tourist trap.)

Another one, mentioned many times here is Ambrosia and Nectar in Oia. A tiny place, with excellent food and service.

And don't forget to drink the local Santorini wines and (of course) Mythos beer.

I also enjoyed the ruins of Akrotiri and a visit to the Santos Winery. Also the Black Sand Beaches, though I should have remembered that they get very HOT after living in Hawaii for so long.

Nomikos Travel, in Fira, was very helpful. Fira, 847 00 Santorini, Greece

ah yes, but you still must do your part by doing some of it yourself, especially the basics like the "must-sees".

Cre8- Deep breaths now ;-)

most people get excited, nervous, anxious before a big trip. Don't sweat the small stuff. You can figure things out once you arrive. I never make arrangements ahead of time (more than hotels and the plane ticket). You could get a guidebook to read on the long plane ride for the places you haven't researched as thoroughly if that'd make you feel better. Remember, it's supposed to be fun -LOL. Best wishes for a safe trip.
