Leave luggage ovenight at Brussels airport
Can anyone tell me if there is an area at the Brussels Airport to leave luggage overnight? We have 1 day and an overnight in Brussels and it does not make any sense to take all our luggage into Brussels.

Is there a train from the station in Brussels airport to Brugges or do we have to go into Brussels center?

Just deciding whether to go to Brugges for the day. I have to validate our rail pass ticket that day before my son turns 12.

Lisa, I don't have exact answers to your questions, but since no other responses have come in so far, I'll give it a whirl. Luggage storage is EVERYWHERE in train stations, so I'm assuming(and you know what they say about that) that you can stow away at the airport, but I've never used that airport so I'm not positive. And since I haven't used that airport I don't know if you can go directly to Brugges, but my guess is that you need to go into Brussels and change trains. Be aware that there are 3 railstations in Brussels (central, nord, midi), make sure you switch at the correct one. And you can set your watch by the trains - they literally run like "clockwork". Good luck.

Lisa, to answer your question, no there are no direct trains from the airport to Brugge (Bruges). You will have to change trains at one of the Brussels train stations. There are two trains per hour to Brugge from Gare du Nord, Gare Centrale, and Gare du Midi. At the Gare du Midi, the trains usually leave around 12 and 37 minutes after the hour (although my train to Brugge was 15 minutes late yesterday). I don't know of a place to store your luggage at the airport. At the Gare du Midi, you can store your luggage at a guarded luggage area around the corner from track 7 (directly across the the enclosed Railtour area). The price is 90 bef per piece.
BTilke (Brussels)

I'm not sure of the facilities at the Brussels airport, but I would think most of the major cities work the same way. Last year, we spent the last evening of our vacation in Luzerne, Switzerland, we were looking around at the locker options, when someone approached us and said why don't you just check your luggage on through to the Zurich airport, there was a desk just nearby that would allow us to do so. I believe they charged $8 per bag, but it was well worth it not to have to deal with our bags again until we got to Washington.
