Lavender Conditions in Provence

Does anyone know of a website that lists what the current lavender conditions would be in Provence? We will be in Provence, the Luberon area, from June 28-Jul 3. It would just be helpful to know before we ventured out which region is in full bloom. I can't remember what year it was but, we went in the early 2000's at the end of June and it was an unusually hot summer and the lavender was gone by the time we arrived. I know that's not the norm.

We have this kind of information here in New England for fall foliage so I didn't know if there's a website out there that might list it for lavender in Provence as we get closer to the season.

Thanks!

In 2014, we were in the Cote d'Azur the first 2 weeks in June and in Provence the last 2 weeks. It was not "hot" when we were there. The last week of June, the lavendin around the Luberon valley close to Bonnieux and east of St Saturnin was spectacular. It was even more spectacular in the Valensole plateau. The lavender around Senanque Abbey in the Luberon was not so spectacular - it still had some green tinge to it. Same with the lavender in the Sault area. We've been in Provence around 6-7 time during the last week of June since 1999, and the lavender around Sault was spectacular perhaps 50-70% of the time then. But the Lavendin near Valensole was always fantastic (but we've only visited the Valensole area 3 times). I think the Luberon Lavindin was also fantastic most of the times we've been there. It seems that Provence has more lavendin now than they had in the 1990s.

Perhaps, on June 25th, post a thread "Hey Kevin Widrow - what is the lavender doing near you?". Perhaps he'll spot the post & reply. We'll be north of Provence in the Ardeche near a lavender region from June 18 through July 2 & If I can remember & have good internet access - I'll see the post & tell you what it is like around Grignan - where there is a lot of lavender and/or lavendin.

We will be in the Luberon area around June 10. Too early for lavender?

We were in Provence the last week of June (24-30) last year we couldn't have timed our visit any better. Lavandin was in full bloom, acres and acres of them in the Valensole area, it was spectacular! Thanks to Stu Dudley's Provence itinerary, we knew exactly where to go. Lavender, we learned at the Lavender Museum (in Coustellet) are cultivated in higher elevations -- so we drove up (through narrow, winding roads) to Sault where we enjoyed magnificent views of lavender. I think your timing is perfect!
