Late arrival to Charles de Gaulle - stay at airport or go to Paris?

Jump to last reply

I have a dilemma and hoping for some advice. My husband, 12 year old son and I will be arriving from Prague to Charles de Gaulle airport at 11 pm. We are only in Paris for 2 nights (that night and the next). Should we get in a cab and go to a hotel in Paris where we will stay for the 2 nights? This would mean a late arrival at our hotel, but would allow us to wake up in Paris and be ready to sightsee the next day.

Or should we stay that night at an airport hotel and get up refreshed and ready to go to Paris the next morning?

Also, if we do the 2nd option, is it easy to take transit from the airport into Paris? We will have one small piece of luggage each.

We aren't on a tight budget but also don't have a fortune to spend on hotels and taxis. In looking at the airport hotels I would probably pick the Novatel right at the airport. If we could take transit the next morning and avoid a high priced taxi ride that would help me justify that choice.

The 2nd choice is assuming there will be somewhere to store luggage for the day while we sightsee.

And yes, I know we are not doing Paris justice! If I could change our plans, budget and schedules we would stay for a week or more. :-)

Help is appreciated.
