I've been in Copenhagen studying for a while, but I found some cheap tickets to Ireland so I jumped on that! I'm flying into Dublin on June 2 and planning on taking the train to Galway a few days later. I'm really interested in seeing the more rural/scenic parts of Ireland...but I won't have a car. I will fly out June 9. Any suggestions? I'm also open to must sees/must avoids for non rural things as well. Thanks in advance!

In all honesty, the better part of a week could be taken up with seeing Dublin and Galway cities. However, if you want to see some rural Ireland then there is nothing better than Connemara, which is west of Galway city. You could take a bus from Galway to Clifden early one morning, stay the night and then travel back to Galway city the following evening. A nice activity in Clifden is to hire a bike and cycle the "Sky Road", which takes a good half day and is a lovely way to see rural Irish life with some lovely scenery. The pubs in Clifden in June will be lively and full of traditional music and great Guinness. There are plenty of buses from Galway to Clifden so that shouldn't be a problem.
