Last minute help Strasbourg and Paris Gare questions...
Hi everyone, last minute change of plans now mean we will drop off Citroen lease car in Strasbourg this Friday afternoon and catch TGV back to Paris Saturday afternoon, before flying out of CDG Sunday am.
With limited internet time to peruse Fodors and research as I normally would, could anyone offer advice on a couple of quick queries please?
1. If we stay near train station in Strasbourg for convenience, is that way away from the highlights?
2. What are the must sees in Strasbourg with 24 hours?
3. Arrive into Paris EST, best way to CDG? (booked into Sheraton on the Saturday night_
Many thanks, in haste.

Train station area is close enough to walk to all the sites. Strasbourg is very walkable town. Be sure to see the cathedral, the canals and try the Alsace cuisine. (saurkraut, ham, pork, sausages).
You will get many suggestions all being the best of course on how to go to CDG from Gare Est. I am a train guy so I would take Metro line 4 just 1 stop to Gare Nord and then RER line B to CDG. Make sure it is a B3 train as line B splits after Gare Nord. The track side message board lights up before each train showing all the destinations for the next train. It's easy.

The Sheraton Hotel CDG is directly on top of the RER station.
I was very happy at the Ibis Hotel in Strasbourg in April. It is directly across the large pedestrian square from the station and has a magnificent view of the big glass dome that has been built over the station.
In fact, here is a photo that I took out of my window at the Ibis:

It just takes a few minutes to walk to the tourist center and the cathedral from there, but it is also fun to take the tramway, which runs directly under the front of the train station.
