Last minute family trip to Andalucia - need some advice!

Jump to last reply

I have just booked tickets for our family of five to go to Andalucia next week!

We will do all the classic sights, and I would like your input on how to optimize our time. We are in our mid forties and our kids are 15, 13 and 11.

Day 1 - flight with Vueling Paris - Granada (arrival at noon). Check in at the hotel, late lunch (I am considering La Antigua Bodega Castañeda)and then afternoon sightseeing. I am thinking Capilla Real and the Cathedral. Maybe tapas in the evening.

Day 2 - full day in Granada. La Alhambra and Generalife in the morning (I read somewhere that you should count 3 hours + for this visit?). Lunch (I am thinking maybe La Porrona)and then a walk in el Albayczin, el Mirador st Nicolas. Maybe tapas in the evening.

Day 3 - train from Granada to Cordoba. Should we go in the morning and arrive at noon in Cordoba, or go in the evening (to have one more day in Granada, and in that case, what would you recommend we visit)?? If we go in the morning, we arrive at noon in Cordoba and would have two half days in Cordoba. We have la Mesquita, Alcazar de Los Reyes and la Juderia on our sightseeing list. For restaurants I am thinking Regadera and Tabernas Salinas.

Day 4 - Cordoba until 18 (6pm). La Mesquita, Alcazar de Los Reyes, la Juderia (depending on what train we take the day before and what we have time to see).
Train to Sevilla around 18h (6pm). Arrive in Sevilla, check in in our apartement. Tapas in the evening at Oveja Negra.

Day 5 - Sevilla. Alcazar, lunch (any suggestions not to far from Alcazar?), Catedral and Giralda tower. Flamenco in the evening - Casa de la Memoria de Al Andalus

Day 6 - Sevilla. Casa de Pilatos, Iglesia del Salvador, lunch (I am thinking Bodeguita Antonio Romero), the bullring, maybe cross the bridge to Triana.

Day 7 - Daytrip Sevilla - Cadiz - Sevilla. No plans here yet.

Day 8 - Morning flight Sevilla - Paris with Vueling

Any comments or tips on restaurants and places to visit are highly appreciated!
