Last minute cuckoo question

I'm leaving for Germany tonight on (sorry) a packaged tour. We'll be in Munich for only one day. I need to pick-up a new cuckoo for a friend. Does anybody know where a reasonably priced store might be in the Marienplatz/Vikualienmarkt area? Or would I get a better deal when we pass through Lucerne? Yeah, I know, the Schwarzwald or Oberammergau would be cheaper but the bus doesn't go through there. Thanks for any suggestions.

There is a big (I don't know how reasonably priced) cookoo clock store on the GLockenspel side of the street as you head up toward the train station from M-Platz.It was about even with the Augustiner restaurant on the other side as I recall. Have a cookoo time.

And Munich's large department stores carry extensive cuckoo clock inventories - probably at prices that are hard to beat at mainly tourist oriented shops.

The large department store opposite the town hall has a nice collection of clocks of all sorts.

Can't compare the prices, can only assure you they are everywhere in Switzerland, including Lucerne.

Desperately trying to recall the souvenir shop's name in Lucerne, 2 floors, carries everything. Escaped. And the bag's at home.

Lucerne? Two stories? Yes! I've been in there many times and the cuckoo clocks are still ticking away.

The name: Casagrande
Street: Kapellgasse 24
website: www.casagrande.ch
