Can anyone recommend a hotel for our last day and night in Italy? We will be coming from Volterra and need to drop off our rental car and spend our final night in Florence before our plane departs at 10:00 a.m..... or would you recommend driving from Volterra on the morning our flight leaves and skip the last night in Florence? Where is a good place to drop off a rental? We have been to Florence before and know not to drive in the city.
Thank you
Last day in Italy, flying out of Florence, need hotel recommendation

How early is your flight? You should be able to drop your car at the airport.
Opps. Noticed your flight at 10. Is it to the states? Different check in times might apply if you are flying to the US than to somewhere in Europe.
Hi SB,

If you are flying back to the US, you will want to be at FLR about 6:15 to return the car and check in for a 10:00 flt.
It's about 1:30 hr from V to FLR.
I can recommend www.bedinflorence.it as a place to stay.
Ask your rental company, but the airport check-in desk may not open until 8:00 am. There would likely be a drop box if you're willing to assume the risks involved, like a claim of damage.
What would be your budget if you stayed in Florence the night before your flight?
Thanks to all who responded. I am trying to understand if it is better to stay in Volterra one more day, get up early to drive to the airport in Florence and drop off the rental. Is it fairly easy to reach the airport in Florence from Volterra?
I recommend Il Villino. Best part is the bus to the airport is right around the corner. It would work out perfectly! The owners are wonderful. IF time try our favorite restaurant ever....Accadia! Another favorite Acquacotta...Pasta with black cabbage is a must! The hotel accomodations are perfect!
Volterra to the Florence airport is at least 90 minutes, probably 2 hours if you want to be safe. If you'd rather get started at 6:00 a.m. and hope you don't encounter any problems along the way, rather than take a short cab ride from a hotel in Florence that morning, well, that's your call. My definition of "fairly easy" would be to stay in Florence and take a cab.
Topping this; I, too, need a hotel for 1 night before flying home the next morning on a 7 AM flight. Any suggestions anyone? Thank you.
Alloro B&B on via del Giglio is between the train station and the Duomo. Easy to catch the bus or a taxi to the airport.
