We're arriving in mid-June, staying 3 nights in Rome, 3 in Venice, and 3 in Varenna. We have 3 more nights before are morning flight out from Milan. Should we stay in Milan and day trip or stay else where and train to Milan early morning? We will be using trains buses only, no car. Any and all suggestions welcome.

You will want to be in Milan the night before your flight. I would add the other two nights to Rome, or one each to Rome and Venice.

Thanks Susan but I can't add to the other nights, already booked those. I may stay a couple of nights in Como or Lugano and the last night in Milan. Is there enough to do in Milan to spend 3 nights there?

What prevents you from adding additional nights? We've not usually had problems changing, adding, subtracting nights from stays as long as it was far enough in advance.

I completely agree with Susan, you need more time in Rome and Venice - unless you have already spent several weeks in both on other trips!

Changing hotel reservations really shouldn't be a problem. Most hotels only require 24 hours notice.
