Lance moves into 2nd pace overal

After completion of the individual time trial today, Lance Armstrong, who had the 2nd fatest time today, moved from 8th place to 2nd overall in the standings.

The leader, Igor Gonzalez de Galdeano of Spain was only a few seconds behind Lance in today's time trial and retains the overall lead by 26 seconds.

It will not be easy this year as these results show that a lot of riders have come into this tour in the best shape of their lives. Lance has his work cut out for him as they head into the mountains.

It will be a great battle and something you don't want to miss if you are a cycling fan.

Go lance......

TdF obviously you know nothing about Lance Armstrong. The mountains are his expertise and he has saved himself these first 9 days for them. Coming out of the mountains, no one will be able to catch him. Reread replays of the last three tours, this isn't a new phenomenon.

Thanks for the update guys. Our dumb cable company doesn't carry it. Son has TIVO and lives for it every day! I think Lance does have his work cut out for him. He has the riding technique to dominate in the mountains but it is available to other riders also if they wanted to make the commitment to do it.
He is just such a classy guy in all ways. Go Lance!!

Planned on watching tonight, now you've ruined it for me. Please don't put the results in the title heading, if you post the results INSIDE the message those of us that don't want to know can simply choose not to read the message. I will of course still watch it on OLN later today, but it won't be as much fun since I already know the outcome.

Go Lance

I'm an American and a cyclist, started in triathlons just like Lance did. You'll find no greater fan of Lance Armstrong than me. However, the last years, in the individual time trials, he blew the field away, winning by a minute one time. This year he is second. It will not be easy. The competition is hungry and have raised their training standards to match Lance's unbelievable training routine.

It will be a war in the mountains but no one has more heart than lance Armstrong. I hope and pray he wins. If he doesn't it won't be cause he didn't give it his all.

He is a class act.

My favorite Lance story. He was in Norway a few years back and was in line to meet the king at a reception. His mother was with him. When he started to walk into the room with his mother he was told only he could go in. His reply, " I don't check my mother at the door." True story.

Considering the fact that is was a major surprise that Lance did not win the 9th stage (he has won this stage in each of his three Tour victories), it will be a battle for him to win this.

Today's results remind us that the Tour is the greatest bike race ( and sporting event?) in the world, not just another *yawn* for Lance to walk away with. If it weren't for tough competitors giving Lance a run for his money, we wouldn't be on the edge of our chairs, biting those nails!

Nonetheless, I'm already contemplating who I might be able to drag to France with me next year to watch ####555555!!

GO LANCE!
