LaLimonera in Bellagio

A large group of our family, 14 of us, are going to Bellagio late next August. We saw the website for these apartments and wonder if anyone has stayed there or knows anything about them. I would love to hear any comments.

I see that you posted this same question twice - - only a few hours apart - - perhaps you were not sure how to find your own previous post (click on "your own name&quot, or as a corollary, you weren't sure if it "took".

In any event, it's there (also), so keep in mind that you might eventually get replies "there" as well as "here".
You can continue to give this (or any other) post added visibility if answers are slow in coming by adding any tinly little bit of info, or "asking again" for help (adding directly on to this thread0 - - thereby "topping" the thread (bringing it back up "to the top&quot.

Best wishes,

Rex

TravelsWithStDavid,

We just returned from our stay at La Limonera for 2 nights last week. There were four of us (2 couples) who shared the largest room with the large balcony on the top floor. Since it was late in the season, there were only 2 or 3 other rooms occupied and the staff was only in the office from 0900-0930 and 1800-1900, but could be reached by cell phone at any time. If you arrive when the office is not open you can either wait until it opens or call the staff on the phone number posted on the office door and they will arrive shortly. We were extremely satisfied with La Limonera and our room was very clean and spacious. Since we had the large room, there was a separate bedroom and living area with a pull out bed (double or queen size), a nice bathroom with a stand-up shower, plus a small kitchen with a stovetop, sink, and refrigerator. There were two balconies only accessible from our room, one overlooking the front of Bellagio and the lake and the other was smaller and overlooked the side of town. They both provided excellent views. It looked like most of the rooms either had a small balcony or for the ground floor rooms, a small patio with chairs. There is also a large common balcony on the 3rd floor available to all guests. The building is fenced in and very safe and there is a nice garden area in the front. The location was excellent for us because we enjoy walking around and exploring the town and La Limonera was located right in the middle of town. We took the bus in from Como and the ferry out to Varenna (nearest train station), so we had to haul our luggage up from the lake which is an uphill walk and may be strenuous for some. Taxis are available and there is limited parking directly in front of La Limonera. I believe there is no charge for that parking, but since we didn’t utilize it, I’m not positive on that. There is also a small general store, coffee house/bar, and a bank located right next to the hotel. Other stores and restaurants are very close and La Limonera is in a very central location in the town. We would highly recommend La Limonera. If you haven’t checked it out, they have virtual tours on their website that gives a good idea of what the layout and rooms look like. http://www.residencelalimonera.com/

We (a couple) stayed at La Limonera for 3 nights in early October in one of the "medium" rooms with a balcony. It was on the second floor and faced towards the lake (which is also into an internal courtyard). It has a nicely modern bathroom with stall shower, good-sized bedroom, and Living room/dining room/kitchen with a stove, small referigerator, sink, and basic dishes. The rooms are clean, modern, and functional and, while a little lacking in charm, were a steal for Bellagio. The location is perfect, as all of Bellagio is walkable and the various lake destinations are easily accessible by ferry. One caveat: La Limonera does not have parking, so you must park your car in the free public parking (which is a few blocks away, surrounding the public park). This was no problem for us in our little fiat, but for 14 people, may be a challenge.

Dear elcjensen and CFS2035

Thanks so much for your comments on LaLimonera. We have reserved space there for next summer and are happy to hear that you were both pleased with your stay there. We all viewed the website and our correspondence with Franca were very positive, but it is always reasssuring to hear from someone who has actually stayed there. I appreciate your responses.
