Lake Maggiore/Lake Orta Public Transportation

There is a great new internet site which gives integrated bus schedules for all towns in the areas of Lakes Maggiore and Orta in Northern Italy (including the very useful seasonal direct bus service to and from Malpensa Airport and the Western shore of Lake Maggiore):

www.vcoinbus.it

The site is only in Italian, but the schedules are very easy to navigate.

The site is helpful. What is the name of the train station closest to Lake Orta?

"Orta-Miasino" is what you should type in the trenitalia.com website.

Thank you so much for the web site www.vcoinbus.it. We are going to LakeMaggiore from the Malpensa airport and this site is very helpful. Although I can't speak Italian. Do you know if we can catch a bus directly at the airport to Canerro Riviera? Where would we buy the bus tickets??

ooh, ladyluck, I can't help re the bus connections, but I do envy you. I admired Cannero Riviera from the lakeboat. It's a lovely town. J.

That website is great, GAC. Thanks a lot! I'm not sure about the footnotes for the various schedules, but I'll probably be able to figure them out. Now I know I can boat from the Swiss end of the lake to, let's say, Cannero, and then bus back to Brissago or even Locarno. Yea. Now I just have to figure out where the busstop is. J.
