Lake Garda, East or West Coast?

Jump to last reply

We have only two nights free for Lake Garda. We'll be coming from Verona and after 5 days hiking in the Dolomites. This would be the last week of June, and Garda the last stop before heading north to catch our plane in Munich.
We'd like to be in the northern section of Garda, which is more mountainous and scenic. I was looking at Gargnano but am now wondering whether, since our time is limited, we would end up spending too much time driving there and maybe we'd be better off staying on the west side of the lake -- either Torri del Benaco, Brenzone, or Malcesine. I've heard that traffic can be slow on the roads but not sure if that would be an issue at the end of June.
Any thoughts?
