We are considering a canal boat trip in early September 2014. Does anyone know about the Lady Teal hotel boat? I have read a couple of reviews which seem very positive, but I would like to get some more information. The cost for four days, all meals included is 630 pounds with a 10 percent discount if we book by the end of this month.
It is mostly booked up for this season, 2013, and some spots are already booked up for the 2014 season.
Any advice? Is early September a pleasant time to be on the Leeds Liverpool canal?
Thanks for your help.

As with all questions to do with UK weather the simple answer is - nobody knows. You can quote averages but they are totally meaningless, as the saying goes past performance is no guarantee of future results.
About the only certainty is that it won't snow - probably - though no-one should be surprised if it does. In any case the weather on the west side of the Pennines may be totally different from that on the east side.
As for September, it's the start of autumn, the trees will be starting to drop their leaves
I don't know the boat but the canal passes through some great pieces of country and a small amount of back yard and industrial wasteland. I've cycled along a fair bit of the towpath and it will an interesting journey, I met a couple of 72 year old Canadians last summer on the canal who were ridding it as part of their holiday and they enjoyed it. September as Alan says will be starting to cool off so 16-18C during the day I guess, rain well I'd avoid the west wet side of the Pennines so no to Manchester if I wanted to up the chance of drier times.
Thanks for the information. I remember going to Scotland in September and it did rain every day. However, as soon as we were in Wales, the sun came out.
The canal and towpath sound like an interesting area to explore. I've been on boats a good deal, but never on a canal.
