La Cervara/ Abbazia di San Girolamo near Portofino - been there?

We’re planning a trip to northern Italy next May, staying three nights in Santa Margherita Ligure following three nights in Florence (we have been to Florence before). We would like to see the area around SML, Portofino, and take one day trip by train to the Cinque Terrre. We particularly love gardens and architectural sites.

I saw a link to the Abbazia di San Girolamo near Portofino, and it looks beautiful. The website says that they are only the first and third Sundays for tours. http://www.cervara.it/en/visite/informazioni

I’m planning to book our flights before too long, and if this is something someone else has done and it is really special, that will help determine which day to leave. We will continue our trip in Bellagio for four nights and Verona for four more, where I realize there are other spectacular gardens.
