Kudos to the Leon Parador

We stayed at the Leon Parador on the third night of our recent trip to Spain. As others have posted, it is a truly special place---beautiful and historic building, lovely accomodations, good food and fabulous staff. But that is not why I offer them praise.

When we returned home I realized I had lost a ring. Not a financially valuable ring, but one with great sentimental value----made by my father-in-law for my mother-in-law from her first wedding ring when he "upgraded". Also a ring I liked and wear a lot. I knew I had worn it to dinner at the Parador and had not worn it again on the trip.

I assumed it was a lost cause but I sent the Parador an email to inquire if it had been found. They responded immediately saying they had my ring!!!!! Faxed them CC # to pay for shipping. Ring arrived yesterday (less than a week after their response) wrapped in bubble pack and sent registered mail. What a class operation!!

Lesson learned by me---sentimental value is probably more important than financial value. I could have replaced the ring with something similar but it would not have had the family history. Husband and I always considered ourselves to be excellent "room checkers" when leaving a room---double checking closets, throwing back the bed sheets, giving the bathroom a good final look but obviously we messed up this time.

Luckily my story has a happy ending---and if this ring ever goes on a journey with me again you can be sure I will double check that I have it before I leave any hotel. Just wanted to share that the Leon Parador is a first-class facility with first-class staff.
