Krakow - Prague - Budapest Travel
I'm planning a maximum 12-day trip for next spring to Krakow, Budapest, and Prague. Any suggestions about which city to fly into and best and/or least expensive way to travel among the 3? It seems that the cheapest way to fly is into and out of the same city. I don't care about the order in which I visit the cities. Thanks.

Hi!
I think the cheapest way to travel among the three cities is to go by bus. There are a lots of cheap offers (retour tickets for ca. 35 euros). See pages of Student Agency or Orange Ways.
I think from Budapest you can easily travel to the other two cities.

I don't really know which transportation method is the cheapest, but we traveled from Prague to Krakow and back by train. This was 6 years ago, so I don't remember the cost but we found train travel efficient, reasonable and enjoyable. We took the day train from Prague to Krakow and the night train from Krakow to Prague.
Do you need recommendations on lodgings? I recommend Pension Dientzenhofer in Prague and Hotel Saski in Krakow.

It seems that you can travel for as low as 19 euro one way from Prague to Budapest (http://europetrainsguide.com/2009071...public-CD.html).

I traveled from Prague to Krakow two years ago and purchased my one way ticket at the train station. It was very cheap(40Euro) and an interesting ride, especially when approaching the border with Poland. It gave me the appearance more of the communist world unlike Prague which seems to be embracing capitalism. When I checked out online the ticket price was twice as much, so... Also, the low budget airlines are abundant and may offer a good fare. I wanted to add Budapest but couldn't find time. Enjoy!
