If I had loads of money I'd stay at the Hotel Grand (www.grand.pl) but since I don't I will settle for the Senacki (www.senacki.krakow.pl). The city has many hotels in all price ranges, and many apartments, too. www.inyourpocket.com has a lot of info.

If there are more than two of you travelling then an apartment is a very cost effective way of finding accomodation.

When I visited Krakow we travelled as a group of five and stayed in a tidy apartment on ul. Pijlanska. A great location, within sight of the Florian Gate amd the old city wall.

Please feel free to read my trip report on Krakow at http://www.colin-julie.com/krakindex.htm

We used cracow-life.com to find accomodation.

Have a great time!

I really enjoyed Guesthouse Trecius, an historic building right off the main square. It was very comfortable and attractive, as well as being the cleanest lodging that I've ever seen.

My trip report is here: http://www.fodors.com/forums/threads...p;tid=34841274 if you'd like some more details of Krakow.

We stayed in The Piano Guest House in Krakow. We arrived early and they fed us while they got our room ready. They took us to the train station extreamly early on the morning we left. We had a triple room with ensuite for 60 euros. I would stay here again. It is about 200 metres from the main railway station. Very clean, the owners are most helpful. It also has free internet access.

We were very pleased with our three nights at Hotel Pugetow. The room was excellent, very well furnished and the staff very friendly and obliging.

I have stayed twice at the Europjeski (sp?), before it was apparantly renovated, and I liked the location and history (the rooms were a bit dated, but that may have been remedied).
