I am staying at the Village Holiday Club in Koutouloufari at the end of April.
Does anybody know anything about this hotel or Village, we have a car for the week what should we visit in the area?

John, most people on this forum don't even know where Koutouloufari is ... it is in East/Central Crete, a 'restored' village of some traditional houses, others purpose-built, a lot of package tourism from the UK (which I'm guessing you're taking part in). More likely to get responses about the resort from some other forums with more UK users of such offers.
If you want sightseeing ideas about Central/Eastern Crete, you'll be likelier to get responses on this form with a different topic heading.

Hi, Koutouloufari is a one of three small villages approx 1km above Hersonissos, in Eastern Crete. Koutouloufari has many good taverna/restaurants within a small area, not sure how many would be open in April. Also there are one or two small tourist shops and local grocery stores, in low season this is fairly quiet, but gets busier in high season. A lovely place to stay and a good base for visiting other areas. To the west you have Iraklion and the musum well worth a visit if open and Knossos, whilst the Crete Aquarium at Gouves is well worth a visit. Star beach appeals to the younger party animal and the Malia Palace is always worth a call. You can also travel inland to various local villages and visit the Lasithi Plateau.
