Konstanz area restaurant recommendations needed
We are travelling to Konstanz and would like to have a few restaurants to choose from for a special occasion. I've looked around online and in the forums and come up empty. I've checked Trip Advisor but there are no restaurants that stick out as being 'the place'. There is one restaurant on Trip Advisor that is #1 on their list called, Ristorante da Giuseppe. Does being #1 on TA mean that it is indeed the best choice? I guess tried and true would be helpful. I would probably be inclined to dine at a restaurant that serves Italian, German or French food over Asian in that part of the world. I'd prefer nothing with a big screen t.v. or tour groups. Cozy, quaint, maybe a good view, good wine would be first preference.
Anyone?

Neckervd- So much to choose from and just what I requested. So many of the sites were in German and I did not do such a good job at the translation. I'll get help with those later from my DH but in the meantime have narrowed the choices to the following and in order of preference:
Papageno
Ophelia
Krone- Gottlieben
Cantino Rabaja- could work. I like the small family atmosphere but am not in the Italian mood right now unless it is really highly recommended. Thoughts?
I am leaning toward Papageno. Have you or any other Fodorites eaten there? What are your impressions? They seem to have an interesting fresh menu and I like the small courses and plenty of selection that my kids will also enjoy. Someone on Trip Advisor's review mentioned you could do a wine flight which is fun.
Ophelia looked fantastic. Pricey, but fantastic all around. Beautiful décor and food, plus two Michelin stars. This could definitely break the bank....plus I'd have to buy myself a new dress to get into the place.
Any other 'tried and true' recommendations from the above list would be welcome!
