Knives to be allowed on airplanes

The TSA has issued a press release to the effect that knives and other previously prohibited potential weapons will be allowed in the cabin, effective April 25. I am not making this up. See their info at http://tinyurl.com/bchbaqg.

Flight attendants, pilots, and air marshals have protested loudly. A White House petition has been drafted. The petition is available on the White House web site but is easily accessed using the URL www.noknivesonplanes.com. Sarah Nelson, VP of the flight attendants union, was on Fox News Sunday morning and gave out this URL. This URL immediately redirects to the official petition. You must register and then you can sign it. As of this evening there were 22,000 signatures with about 77,000 more needed by April 5. I don't know exactly how this works but I registered and signed.

Please sign and pass this information on to your traveling friends, and everybody. The TSA has handed the keys to the city gates to the barbarians. Whose side are they on?

Hopefully it will be overturned by more reasonable minds than those who run TSA.

The new policy apparently is simply in line with Europe's. What's the big deal?

Considering that boxcutters were used on the flight attendants for 9/11, I urged everyone of sound minds to sign this. On behalf of my fellow flight attendants, I thank you!

The EU still doesn't allow knives, baseball bats (even miniature ones) , hockey sticks and the like on board.
They are going to be allowing liquids onboard again in larger containers, from next year, once all airports have the new scanners fitted.

Topping. Come on folks. Click the link and sign the petition, please. It now has almost 30,000 signatures but needs 70k more.

I am fed up with this terror-paranoia. The wire of my mobile phone's charger can be a lethal weapon around someone's neck. Sound this be banned too?

The knife lobby, I'm not kidding, has "persuaded" the TSA to go forward with the idiocy of allowing knives on planes. The only way it can be overturned is apparently through an act of Congress. Such an act has been drafted and is in consideration. Read more at http://noknivesonplanes.com/.

TSA has decided to delay implementation of the new rule allowing knives on board. See http://tinyurl.com/cu3wv2y. I hope it is a permanent delay.

Count me as another vote in the anti-paranoia-just-get-over-it faction.
