Going to Paris and longing to eat some classics; kidneys in mustard sauce and coq au vin. Trite I know, but I love them both. Been awhile since I have been in Paris, would love to know if anyone knows where I can devour these delicacies.

Once upon a time I made the mistake of ordering from a French restaurant in Alexandria, VA (French folks just off the boat)a dish of lamb kidneys. Ghastly. Took it home. The cats refused to eat it - and they would eat anything. While in Holland, I was determined to eat eel. Until I saw it. Mais, chacon a son gout.
Try Chez Denise for kidneys and Josephine Chez Dumonet for coq au vin.
thanks AJ and patty for those ideas. And Shanna, thanks for your silly and useless non advice.

My husband loved his rognons de veau (à la moutarde, no less) at Paul Chêne in the 16th.
Happy eating!
My DH loves kidneys..except mine, they are overactive!! They are always on the menu st chez Fernand on rue christine
Josephine Chez Dumonet is an excellent bistrot, but they do not have coq au vin on their menu.
