So at least pack or wear your waterproof jacket w/ hood and opt out a sundress for another pair of 'wicking' pants -- they will repel water and dry much faster than jeans and the like. But I hope reports are wrong and you are pleasantly surprised......

What is chilly to you? I think it's about 60F now, which would be perfect for me.

Are downpours predicted or showers or steady rain?

We are going for a couple of weeks in June at a period that in the past has had

1-near record warmth
2-unseasonable cold
3-12 out of 14 days with rain (fortunately not all at t he same time).

Can't plan for that kind of variation, especially since, as in the stick market, past performance doesn't predict future performance.

You/we will have a wonderful time anyway.

thanks. i expect to have a great time, paris in the rain is has a whole nother dimension. no sundresses (its not a beach afterall), raincoat and umbrella - always. 60 degrees is perfect unless it is extremely damp....so i guess longsleeved shirts and a sweater it will be.

Today was mostly sunny, then there was an absolutely terrific rainstorm around 2pm, and then it was sunny again.

The main thing to know right now is that the Seine is closed to navigation for the moment since it is at flood stage and there is not enough room for the boats to go safely under the bridges -- and the smaller boats that fit can't cope with the current. So no Bateaux-Mouches, no Vedettes du Pont Neuf or any of the other boats, and no Batobus.

On top of that, the right bank expressway was closed today since it is likely to be underwater soon, so you taxi lovers should be prepared to pay more because it is creating some pretty serious traffic jams in the center of the city. (And if you love the buses, you will have much more time to love them stuck in traffic.)

It poured today around lunch time - the Seine is very high - paths covered. We are wearing light coats - 17c today but has rained sometime daily in the last 3 days. Still warmer than London .

DH and I seem to have the worst luck lately. Istanbul last year poured for 4 solid days, Amsterdam the year before - same thing. flooding in both. Vienna 3 years ago - rain for 3 days. all different times of the year. Oh well, at least we've been to Paris many many times so we can handle this crummy weather and besides there's plenty to do, or do nothing!

Rain has stopped. On and off, on and off.... but yes, temperatures are supposed to drop for the rest of the week.

Hi Ker
Downpour was noon - sharp - at Compiègne today.
Just as I left the train... Stopped when I entered the restaurant I found next to Hotel de Ville.
What a day.
