Please can you give me the name of the Cafe'/Brasserie on the corner of 73 Marx Dormoy & 1bis Rue Ordener - and do you consider it worth a dinner (maybe on our way home to rue Torcy)?
On PagesJaunes I can only make out quot;Cafe de la......."

Thanks a ton - espresso stop I guess. I am having fun going through all the other cafe/bars and noting the price of espressos - If one little place sells it at 1.50euro and another 3.00euros I guess it must be the quality of the coffee grounds? I particularly like Lavazza and Illy, but never pay attention to what I'm actually being served - it's either smooth and delicious or bitter and not worth ordering another.

I don't drink espresso that much, I think the main thing affecting the cost of any kind of coffee in cafes is the location, for the most part (barring real expensive restaurants, certainly). Coffee should be cheaper in outer areas like that.

oh, that URL says espresso is 1.60 euro but that was six years ago. Also, some places have a regular price and a price for a double, of course, which is not usually twice as much.

That is the Café de la Poste. Au Roi du Café across the street diagonally from it (beginning of rue de la Chapelle) is considered to be a little more chic.

I confess that I have never eaten in either, since I live across the street from both of them (on top of the LCL bank).

In my own neighborhood, I only go to the Chinese or Indian restaurants, just because they can make the dishes better than I can.

I have Au Roi du Cafe`, 2 Rue de la Chapelle - Metro Marx Dormoy - which you mentioned in you Ethnic Walking Tour AND

Au Roi du Cafe`, 59 Rue Lecourbe/cnr.Rue Volontaires.
Metro: Sevres-Lecourbe / Volontaires

Is this the same owner( or branch) or just happens two businesses called themselves by the same name?

Lots of cafés have the same name in Paris (Café de la Poste, Café du Métro, Café des Amis....). Au Roi du Café is probably a coincidence.

There are four cafes in Paris with that name Roi du Cafe.
