I was able to use my Frequent Flyer miles for April (I was going to fly into London, but it's like $50 more in taxes than flying into CDG!)
I was originally thinking of doing a few nights in Rome - but I have a total of 9 nights total. So maybe 2 or 3 nights London, the rest Paris with a day trip or two. I love Paris, and I love London, but I figure I'll explore different areas I've not been to (like Versailles).
If there are any wonderful day trips you've all done from Paris - something new (I've not seen the Loire Valley, for instance), I'd love to hear about it! Or maybe a couple of nights in Nice, or Marseilles, or one of the many wonderful places I know are in France that I've not been to. As you can see, I've not yet quite figured out my trip. I'd like to have 5 nights at least in Paris. At least 2 in London. That leaves 2 more nights if I want to explore a different city.
Any suggestions? Thanks! I have been to Mont St. Michel already, to Dinard, to Monets Gardens.
I can't believe I just went a few months ago and I'm going back! I plan to stay at the same Paris hotel, I loved it and the neighborhood. And flying out of CDG means I can bring back fresh pastries this time.
(As opposed to staying in London)
Thanks!
Denise

Fantastic. Aren't you fortunate. How about 2 days in Lyon?
- a quick train trip, can be explored by foot, great restaurants and food,
- we stayed at Hotel Residence - €70/night right on main pedestrian thoroughfare
I think Lyon is where my hairdresser is from, that might be where she's been trying to get me to go! I will check that out as a definite option! I was just in Paris, so I think 5 nights will be good, and 2 in London, since I was also just there!
I think I was stunned first that I could get my air miles redeemed!
I am getting so excited, I had a bit of a delayed reaction on that this morning.
Hi N,

You could train to Dijon/Beaune and visit Burgundy for a few days, with or without a car.
