junior suite in London?
My husband, teenaged daughter and I are heading to London for a week in August, and daughter is almost expiring from anticipation. Husband, however, would really like an affordable room that is really a tiny suite, i.e. bedroom, small other room with fold-out couch, and bathroom, for privacy's sake. (There are several of these in New York.) No kitchen necessary. Does anyone know of a London hotel configured this way that won't blow the budget to smithereens, and that is in a quiet but somewhat central neighborhood?
Thanks!

Hi
I'm not sure I'm understanding your husband's preferences, but if you want two sleeping rooms within your accommodations, you'd do better here to say what you really mean by "affordable"--how much per night? And you want one bathroom ensuite, or two?
There are many "triple" rooms in London, but most of them have the bed for the third person within the one and only bedroom. Usually it's a daybed or sofa bed; sometimes even a roll away.

We stayed at Knightsbridge Green ( not Knightsbridge Hotel, which it's sometimes confused with) last July, and it does have small jr. suites configured that way-- bedroom with fireplace, and sitting room with pullout couch. The hotel is around the corner from Harrods, and about two blocks from the Knightsbridge tube. It is located in a small brownstone with only five or six floors, (doesn't have much of a lobby or staff, but that doesn't seem as though it would bother you) that gets locked up each night at 10PM, after which you buzz yourself in. I don't have their website handy, but I think it's on the Fodor's Rants and Raves list. Forget to say that it's also reasonably priced.
Good luck!

The Moat House chain is having an incredible sale right now--under 100GBP, I think. Not sure of the Web site, but plug "Moat House Hotels" into Google or any search engine and it should come up.
We stayed at the Kensington Moat House in October and my brothers family of four stayed there in November. They have a large room with a king-sized bed and bunk beds in an alcove as you enter the suite (so you all have privacy). Bathroom included, of course, as is a great breakfast. And it's just a few doors from the South Kensington Tube stop and a block off of Brompton Road (V&A, Harrods, Natural History Museum, Brompton Oratory).
Have a great trip!
