Jungfraujoch in December

Hi,

I'll be arriving at Basel on 4-Dec from Paris.
4-Dec: Stay at Interlaken
5-Dec: Stay at Grindelwald
6-Dec: Departs to Venice
I plan is doing the day trip to Jungfraujoch on one morning, depending on weather.
QUESTION 1: Jungfraujoch open for visit in 1st week of December?
QUESTION 2: Should i get any swiss pass? Or just normal fare?

Jungfrau trains operate all year round. ( However, yesterday due to a stong wind, the train from Lauterbrunnen went up only as far as Wengen in the moring. Then I don't know what happened in the afternoon. )

Yes, it should be open. However, in just 2 days there is no guarantee that you will get a day when the top is clear instead of wreathed in clouds/in a snowstorm. We stayed in Interlaken 3 days before we got one that was clear at the top - and that was in June when you don't get snow even in the mountains.

Typically the earlier in the day you ascend the better - since weather can turn late in the day - but you must understand you risk not getting there and have other options ready.

On Dec 4th, both, Interlaken and Grindelwald will be almost deserted for sure. But all trains will run and the attractions and restaurants at Jungfraujoch will be open, of course.
As to the weather, everything is possible. Temperatures at Jungfraujoch will be below 0 degrees centigrade all the day.

Standard fares for Swiss railway tickets:
Basel - Spiez - Domodossola (Italian border): 90 CHF, with Swiss Travel Pass free
Spiez - Grindelwald and back: 44 CHF, with Swiss Travel Pass free
Grindelwald - Jungfraujoch and back: 184 CHF, with Swiss Travel Pass 138 CHF
Best solution: Swiss Half Fare Card
