Jet Lag?

First time to fly international for our family. I was exhausted right away and after a few days of extra sleep have rebounded. The kids faired well and no complaints. It has been 5 days and now my husband has been hit with extreme exhaustion, aches and low fever. Could this be delayed jet lag?

Sounds more like a case of mild flu.

I agree. It seems highly unlikely he would experience jet lag after 5 days. Nor does jet lag cause a fever.

Get to a pharmacy and ask for the kind of treatments you use at home. Make sure he's hydrating. And a heating pad could help with the aches.

Good luck.

On one trip I experienced jet lag for just over two weeks (going to bed at 6:00 p.m., getting up at 2:00 a.m. and just could not get back into the rhythm). That was very difficult for my job.

However, I did not experience any aches and pains. I agree - it sounds more like flu (perhaps flu and jet lag combined).

That is not jet lag. Not to panic, it may well be simply a viral infection that blossomed in the presence of the stress of travel. (Technically not flu but that term is commonly used in error to refer to a rang of viral infections.) Hydrate, OTC pain reliever as needed, if temp goes over 100.5 F / 38 C seek medical attention.
