Jazz at Vienne

Jump to last reply

My husband has been talking of 'someday' going to Montreux for the music festival but I've recently learned about Jazz a Vienne. The idea of concerts in an ancient ampitheater in a town on the Rhone 20 minutes south of Lyon certainly appeals to me...
And the musical line-up, this year's anyway, offers a lot we would both enjoy.

I have found the website [jazzavienne.com] and done a bit of research but I'd like to know if any of you has personal experience with this festival in Vienne. Can you comment on the music venues, hotels, car vs. public transportation, etc.?

Has anyone been to both Vienne and Montreux? I'd love to hear your impressions. Thanks!
