Itinerary Help - Ionian Islands

Itinerary Help - Ionian Islands

Hi, I'm planning a trip in August with my husband to Corfu. And from there we want to go for a couple of days to Kefalonia and Zakynthos.
1. Is it easy to fly to Corfu or you can fly to Athens and take a ferry to Corfu?
2. And is there a ferry between Corfu and the other two islands?
3. And how many days do we need on each island? Do you think that 10 days will be enough for the whole trip?
4. Can you take a ferry from th Ionian Islands to Santorini and Mykons?

Thanks for your help! Any suggestion will be appreciated! Thanks!

You can find Sky Express flights directly between all three in high season. You may be able to find a hydrofoil in high season depending on your date with some research, but they don't usually directly connect.
10 days for all three is definitely not enough but if you had to, at least 4-5 days in Corfu, 2 Kefalonia (which is not enough to really enjoy it), 4 Zante.
Forget about Santorini/Mykonos in that short period of time. A couple of more weeks and you can take an overnight ferry from Patras to Crete and hydrofoil onto Santorini.
You are better just choosing btween two of the islands.
I have been to those islands in August and it is really hard to find accomodation since it is so busy then, so you'll need to book early.
My suggestion, spend the week in Corfu and if you find it is too much when you are there do a daytrip to Paxos(you'll love it!). You can even do a daytrip to Albania with the excursion to UNESCO World Heritage site of Butrint. Anyway, exploring within Corfu will be a bunch of daytrips such as Paleokratritsa with the boats around, Achilleon palace, and then there are the beach days in Glyfada or Pelekas etc. with the beautiful views as you look from within the sea as you cool off from the hot heat of August.
If I had to choose I'd combine Corfu with Kefalonia for the balance.

Thank you guys! We're planning to go from 21th of August or 28th. I guess we will fly to Corfu and stick to Ionian Islands and do Athens & Cyclades another time. So, about the transport connections - it looks like we can fly between Corfu - Kefalonia - Zakinthos. But if we use a ferry only it looks like we should stick to Kefalonia - Zakinthos. It looks that Corfu is too far. Do you think we should go for 2 weeks Kefalonia & Zakinthos? Thanks

I think you'll enjoy Corfu because it is a big island with alot to see and do and Corfu Town is stunning with its architecture, and has a better museum. Endeavor Lines runs a ferry leaving Kefalonia-Igoumenitsa-Corfu in high season but it leaves 7pm, reaches Igoumenitsa at 11:30pm and gets into Corfu at 1am (See Patras/Cepholonia-Brindisi schedule-Aug 20,21,23,26-28). It also leaves Corfu at 1:30am and reaches Kefalonia at 8am.
If you go with Kehalonia & Zakynthos(Zante), you also might want to check out Lefkada(Lefkas).
Another option to consider is mixing 1 week in Zakynthos or Kefalonia with a few days in Patras where you can use Patras as a base to visit Olympia and Delphi and also take a bus to Athens (2.5 hrs)
