Itinerary help 9 days in Northern Italy

Husband and I going to Italy for first time. We like to stay put for few days each place we go.

What do you all think of our plans for our end of September trip?

Land in Venice: Sept 22 -- do the sites, Murano, the Opera, the Biennelle
Leave Venice: Sept 26
Drive to Bergamo and stay Sept 27, 28
Drive to Stresa and stay Sept 29, 30 and leave the first of October for flight home from Milan

Questions: Good routes to drive? Stops on the way? Day trips from Bergamo? Too long in Venice? Restaurants?

Also, if the weather in the Lakes is bad, we drive south to Florence and spend last 2 nights in Bergamo? What do you all think?
