Itinerary Critique, please?

Jump to last reply

Hi all, would love it if anyone would critique my first draft for our 8 days/nights in Portugal this September (btw, better fares available on Sept. 11!). Usually we don't do any one nighters, in fact we're pretty slow travelers and usually don't even do two or three nighters, so suggestions related to the pace and the two one-nighter parts, especially welcome. I just already felt like I was leaving out so much I was interested in, it was hard to leave out more. But I'm very open to suggestions. TIA

Mon. Sept. 12: Arriving Lisbon 8:50 AM
Take train to Porto. Spend afternoon hanging out by river, walking on bridge, and maybe if not too jet lagged, going to one of the port caves.
Tues. Sept. 13: More Porto and/or day trip to Guimares, depending on how we're feeling about Porto.
Wed. Sept. 14: Rent car in morning, drive to Pinhao, sleep there.
Thurs. Sept. 15: Drive to Tomar, explore, sleep there.
Fri. Sept. 16: Drive to LIsbon, stopping 2 or 3 hours each at Obidos and Nazare.
Sat.: explore Lisbon neighborhoods
Sun.: Lisbon, Gulbenkian museum and Tile Museum
Mon.: Day trip to Sintra
Tues.: Fly home
