My daughter and family stayed at the Peterson, partially on my own initial research and finally on Ira's recommendation. They were very happy with it.

We've stayed at La Calcina twice and Hotel Casci once, and I recommend both.

Have you looked for opinions already posted on Fodors? Just type in the hotel name in the search field to find recent comments.

Hi B,

The Casci has gotten very good reviews here, as has the Peterson.

We spent 11 nights at the Peterson and were very happy we did.

They do not offer bkfst.

There is a small cafe about 20 ft from the front door that makes coffee, sandwiches and sweet rolls for bkfst - about 2.5E.

You can also buy bus tickets and stamps.

Enjoy your visit.

We loved La Calcina. We paid a bit extra for a corner room with a canal front view. So worth it! We were surprised they wanted a big chunk up front for a deposit, but after doing a bit of research decided it was ligit and worth it and we were glad we did. The location was fabulous, the staff very friendly and helpful, the setting gorgeous and the breakfast plentiful.

Beware: My daughter and family liked the location best of all...the rooms were clean and pleasant, and the host/hostess were very helpful.
Easy walk to the main attractions.

beware, I also have really enjoyed staying at La Calcina. I would budget spending more Euros in Rome, though, even if that meant spending less somewhere else. Have you checked on tripadvisor for reviews of these Rome places?

Hi B,

>What did you like most about the Peterson.

Very good accomodations at a very low price.

Lovely people to deal with.

Nice neighborhood, not far from SMN station,
