Italy-France Saver Flexi Pass
Next November we are traveling in France and Italy, the itinerary will be:
Paris to Dijon, Dijon to Turin, Turin to Padova, Padova to Firenze
Firenze to Rome.
In order to compare if it would be better to buy
point to point tickets in Europe or an Italy France Saver Flexi Pass, I need to know how much more I am expected to pay for the leg, Dijon-Turin. This requires an Artesia Train, and the conditions of the pass say:
"Access to Artesia trains by paying for Pass 1.
Does anyone know how much this might be?
If it is not much to ask, does anyone know
if the pass is good for Rome-Paris in the Palatino train, and if the answer is yes how much more I shall have to pay.
I am considering either the train or volare web.
Thank you very much indeed.

Hi sorry Rex, I tried but it did not help me.
I guess that I would like to ask someone who actually used an Italy
France Saver Pass, how much extra had to pay when taking an
Artesia train within France, or a train like the Palatino from Rome to Paris.
I understand I have to pay for the sleeping facilities and the reservation but is there an extra fee for up grading. How much - more or less - ?

Graziella, I'd ask the company that is selling the pass what they mean by that.
Ordinarily, you don't have to pay for anything other than a seat reservation on an Artesia train (or compartment for the night trains). The Artesia train is a combined French/Italian venture. Here's the rub: cost is a lot like the Eurostar Italia and other premier trains (i.e. the Signatur train in Norway). So you get more service -- in some instances just "free" beverages and newspapers (Eurostar Italia) and others (i.e. Signatur) a full lunch. So the seat reservation/supplement on this train will run you more than the usual 5 euro for a seat reservation; it will (and I'm guessing based on the prices of the other trains that I used) it would run about 15 to 25 euro extra per passenger. Again, check with the company that sells you the passes, because they should have some idea of what the supplement will cost.
We used the Artesia night train, which was a different story. We did not need to pay a supplement, but did pay for the compartment and because we had rail passes, we received a reduction on the normal fare for the room.
