Italy fountains still on in winter?

I was just wondering if the fountains, especially in Rome, will still be running in mid to late December? Do they always run?

I was there in November 2002 and they were running. However, at Tivoli Gardens some were shut down but most were running.

Hi sandi_travelnut,

I was in Rome last December and they were all flowing.

If you enjoy fountains the fountains at Villa d'Este are not to be missed. It's not that far from Rome and you can visit Hadrian's Villa on the same day.

Thanks. I've been planning this trip for a year now and have all the preparations made. Now I'm just thinking of those last minute, nagging questions. Vacation only 13 weeks from this Friday!
