italy driving websites, info

I will be leaving for Italy next week. Thanks for all of your posts, they have been very helpful. I can't seem to locate the posts which give good websites to help in trip planning (driving). Anyone know of good sources? I've purchased a good map. Also any recommendations on routes would be greatly appreciated.
Travel plans:
Venice 3 days,
then pick up the car at the aiport to drive to Greve in Chianti,
tour this area 3 days,
Drive to Rome airport drop off car,
Spend three days in Rome.

Thanks

Agree that Viamichelin is the place to start. Other similar web sites include mappy.com and geoshellstar.com - - each has its peculiar advantages.

Best wishes,

Rex
Your message was not so hard to find, just "nine deep" on the second page.

It's considered slightly bad etiquette to post the same question again so soon, instead of making the effort to go find it again.

Bringing your message back up to the top for you, also known as "topping".
For the Chianti region, there's a great, detailed map available free on the web. www.monterinaldi.it
Click on "The Map of Chianti Classico area", fill in your name & address on the next screen, and you'll get a map in the mail in a few weeks. It's quite detailed. As a bonus, it shows exactly where all of the Chianti wine estates are located.
Sorry about the double posting. I wasn't topping up. My computer timed out during my posting, and I thought it was lost. So I re-typed it and submitted again. I think it has been wonderful that all of you have responded so quickly. I have been on the viamichelin site, and mappy. They are great and I have exactly what I need. Thanks again.

So that this one is above the other one (which would have been better left alone, instead of adding your apology, which took it to the top again, above this one!)
