Italy and France logistics question

Jump to last reply

We are VERY early in the planning stages of our trip for June of 2013. I am reading all of the trip reports and posts that I can find so that I don't ask too many redundant questions. Here is what we would like and I can't figure out how it would be easiest to manage the travel. I want to book air fare when I can find a good deal and I need some idea of which way were are going. , We have been to the other areas of Italy - I thought I should add that before someone tells me to just stay in Italy. Anyway, we would like to go to Rome (3-5 nights) and Venice (3-4 nights) and then a week to 10 days in Provence, France. We are flying from the Southeastern coast of the US and we are trying to figure out how to get from point to point and back home. Any suggestions? I was thinking fly to Rome, train to Venice, "train??" to Provence" and fly home from......???? Any advice is appreciated!
