Italy advice for 12 days

Jump to last reply

My partner and I are traveling to Europe for the first time next year in May and will be spending 12 days in total (including day of arrival and departure) in Italy. Two of those days we will spend going by train from Rome to Casino (family member buried there). We are late 50's, general first time top sites interests. I was thinking of the following itinerary:
Day 1 - Paris - Venice
Day 2 - Venice
Day 3 - Venice
Day 4 - Venice - Florence
Day 5 Florence
Day 6 Florence -Rome
Day 7 Rome
Day 8 Rome
Day 9 Rome
Day 10 Rome-Casino
Day 12 Casino-Rome-home
My concern is that I may be attempting to cover too much in this time. I was considering perhaps cutting out Florence??? and if so should i add the time to Rome or Venice? Any advice would be most welcome. Also mode of transport I was considering would be train. Many thanks
