Italianophiles on a Sentimental Journey Need Suggestions

We depart for Italy in early April and at this moment,we have our air tickets and nothing more! We fly into Rome and out of Milan,with 20 days in between.To provide some background,we lived in Tuscany for 2 years a LONG time ago,and have returned to Italy so many times,we have lost count.Last April,we spent 2 weeks in le Marche and Puglia.The year before we were in Maremma and Elba,and in years before that,Como and Orta.;the Amalfi Drive;Cinque Terre;Portofino;Bologna;more Tuscany;more Umbria;Sicily.We know we do not want to go South..... Our very sketchy plan is to drive from FI to Spoleto for 3-4 easy days of visiting some of our favorite towns in Umbria, before moving on to Perugia for more of the same.We are considering cooking classes in le Marche,near Fano and possibly catching a ferry for a few days in Croatia.Our last stop will be to meet up with our kids who live in Prague, either in Padua or somewhere on Lake Garda or................. before departing from Malpensa.
All of this is is totally fluid,and we would be delighted to learn of your favorite towns;agriturismos;B& Bs .......The ones you long to return to,one more time.Those places you most treasure might also shine a light on a destination we had not considered. A few days of cooking classes is very appealing.We have a blank calendar and know you Fodorites will help us fill it. in a most enticing way.Can't wait for your inspired suggestions!!!!!!!
